How old do you have to be to let go of the dreams of your youth? Part of us still wishes we were a famous actress or singer. Which…based on our obvious lack of talent…is ludicrous. We don’t want to want to be a pop star. We want to be a person who makes sense. We want to be a person who does what they are made to do. A person who lives an honest life. Someone who works hard and does well and loves the people around them. And yet, part of us wishes for more. For bigger things. For worldly things. We wish so much we could let that all go. We wish we could be happy with the suburbs. With Target and Panera and Walmart runs on the weekend. We wish we could cut coupons and watch Opera and love my dog. We don’t want to think we deserve more. We know that we don’t. And yet, we still dream of a life bigger than what we have…

missy, no matter what kind of life you lead, the ‘burbs or the city, you are going to be too big for it. and THAT is a thing to celebrate.

Even though I wish I could be satisfied with my life - it’s a blessing to still be dreaming. Thanks for reminding me, Mandy! Thanks for checking back too.
