“Young Woman of the People” (1918 ) is our favorite painting. Notable for the solid blue eyes that have much expression in their blankness. Even with the abstracted style, there is a solid strenth to the muse, and we love her for it. Modigliani died at 35, and painted this 2 years before his death.

That sounds like a really cool girl! What an interesting sense of personal style. It’s so disappointing when jewelry gets stolen. OR maybe Paul Gillespie broke it because he hated it.
